(slightly off-topic but this is the most Tiguan-related thread that is current on myBB)
I have a question about the largest / widest tyres that can be fitted to a 2016 (previous shape) Tiguan before they begin to rub against the body and cause other problems ?
[I am cogniscent about differing tyre outside diameters and their effect on speedo error, trip computers etc]
the OD of different size tyres can be calculated and compared using one of the following 3 tyre-size calculators:
https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/
http://www.tyresizecalculator.com/
https://www.errolstyres.co.za/odcalculator
The exact model is the 1.4 petrol 90kW Trend/Fun 4x2 manual 6-spd and it came with Bridgestone Dueler H/T's a very unusual tyre size 215/65R16 (also used on a limited number of Nissan X-Trails).
I am looking for something more off-road like Dueler A/T, Good-Year Wrangler, Pirelli Scorpion or even BF Goodrich, but these are not available in the original tire size.
Scroll down to the photos on this thread showing the Pirelli Scorpion ATR 225/70R16's that were successfully fitted to a Tiguan in Australia:

goes even further and shows that 16", 17", 18", 19" and 20" tyres were fitted as standard to 2016 Tiguans
in widths of 215mm, 235mm and 255mm,
and profile percentages of 65, 60, 55, 50, 45 and 40%
