How much does the new Honda Amaze cost in South Africa?

The prices of the Honda Amaze have not increased radically compared with those of its predecessor. Prices for the same derivatives were R253 600, R272 900, and R292 900, which we find impressive.
Honda includes a 5-year/200 000 km warranty, 3 years of AA roadside assistance and a new 4-year/60 000 km service plan, which is twice as long as the previous model’s 2-year/30 000 km plan. Impressive.

B-segment sedans aren’t as popular as they were – some would argue that they primarily serve e-hailing and fleet operators – but the Amaze’s new-vehicle sales figures suggest the model has broader appeal.
The new-gen Honda Amaze has not changed radically, but it didn’t need to. This time, Honda looked beyond the model’s traditional pillars of efficiency and low running costs, and sought to optimise value by cramming even more tech and convenience features into its product, to the benefit of consumers.

DRIVEN: New Honda Amaze arrives with better looks, high-value price tag
VERDICT
Like its predecessor, the new Honda Amaze is a simple, solid and honest package, but the redesign makes it a lot nicer to look at, both inside and out, and the vehicle has also gained some modern new features.
As a further bonus, the service plan has been extended to four-years or 60,000km worth of coverage, up from two-years/30,000km.
The new Honda sedan is well worth a test drive, but will inevitably face stiff competition from Suzuki's new Dzire.

Pity they skimped on safety on the entry level trend model with just 2 airbags. Suzuki Dzire has it beat with 6 airbags across range and quite a bit cheaper at entry level. Good looking thing though but the top line model got some stiff competition even from other segments like a Kia sonet (starting at 299k which is bigger in all aspect).

New Honda Amaze versus Suzuki Dzire: which is the best compact sedan on the block?
VERDICT
We really want to choose a winner here, but it’s an unbelievably close call.
Both are excellent choices in the small sedan market, but if aspects such as value, economy, and connectivity are most important to you, the Suzuki simply makes the most sense. It wins the value for money competition here, even though the Honda is really well priced in its own right.
But subjectively speaking, we prefer the Honda, albeit by the smallest of margins. It just feels like a more expensive car, both in the way it looks inside and out, and in the way it drives.
As for which has the most ridiculous-sounding name, that is a resounding tie!

Gotta say I am very happy with my 2019 CVT Amaze. The wife drives a slightly older Balade Trend and the difference in having the CVT gearbox and the nicer aircon and sound system makes a big difference. More than offsets the slight offset in power (1.2 l vs 1.5 l engine). Nicer leather seats too. The whole family elected to pack less for a recent holiday to Balito just so we could take the Amaze over the Balade. Kids gave up some leg room and the boot is a bit smaller but overall was blown away with how much more comfortable it was compared to our other car on the open road. Handled van Reenen pass with ease even fully loaded. Never getting a manual car again if I can help it. Hoping to one day upgrade the wife's car to a slightly bigger Honda like the HRV with the CVT setup.

City driving in summer is the worst at between 7.5 and 7.8 per 100km (worse due to aircon, and I work in Sandton)
City driving in winter around 6.9 to 7.2
Open road driving between 5.8 and 6.2
