If I were to ever buy a jaguar it wouldn't be for the power, unless it's the EX S. Jags just looks so much better than the germans, even in vanilla spec.

Should I buy one?
There has always been a good case for owning a Jaguar XE, and now there’s a better one. The revised car’s exterior now has far more presence, while the interior conveys value (and has the benefit of the more advanced infotainment system), The steering and handling that contribute so much to its driving enjoyment are unaltered, but there’s a new level of ride refinement.
In short, Jaguar has not harmed any of the XE’s previous points of appeal, while adding important new ones.

Jaguar XE Reims Edition
The Jaguar legend has been built atop extreme performance cars and heroic on-track victories. The latest special edition Jaguar XE Reims Edition pays homage to both, with a name inspired by perhaps the most iconic Jaguar racing car of all time, and an appearance that mimics two of the most hardcore Jaguar road cars ever built.
The Jaguar XE Reims Edition celebrates the Jaguar D-Type's maiden victory in 1954 at the 12-hours of Reims, piloted by Ken Wharton and Peter Whitehead completing over 2,000km at an average speed of 105mph. Commemorating this momentous victory, the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust has fitted a plaque on the preserved Jaguar branded pit on the disused Reims-Geux circuit in the Champagne region in France.
In recent Jaguar history, cars that wore the famous French Racing Blue paint were the most extreme - the limited XKR-S and XFR-S are two examples - but for now, it makes a return on the limited XE Reims Edition. The XE Reims Edition will be the first of a series of 'Jaguar Factory Specials'; limited production run vehicles with bespoke features and details overlaid on the current award-winning vehicle range.
Offered exclusively with the 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol (P250) engine in R-Dynamic S guise, every Jaguar XE Reims Edition is fitted with a number of bespoke and standardised options. Each of the 200 units will be painted in French Racing Blue, with a number of unique contrasting elements including a black contrast roof, black mirror caps, black sill inserts and fitted with 19-inch, five split-spoke, gloss black alloys.

The Jaguar XE continues to deliver a slickly executed take on the mid-sized executive genre, offering something different to the usual German suspects in the BMW 3 Series / Audi A4-segment.
On paper at least, this revised version seems to have the design, technology and ambition necessary to succeed in this segment, with the dynamics of a BMW and the luxury of a Mercedes, plus all the efficiency and connectivity modern business buyers now expect. It's a strong contender.

Jaguar South Africa has quietly loaded up the configurator and spec details of its updated XE sedan. Here's how much it costs.
The Jaguar XE was given a facelift in early 2019, which we covered in detail here. The looks have been changed, giving it a sleeker appearance, while the cabin has been overhauled.
Jaguar SA is offering one engine in 2 states of tune for our market. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol Ingenium motors offers up 184 kW and 365 Nm badged as a P250, while a more potent P300 delivers 221 kW and 400 Nm. All models feature rear-wheel drive as well as an 8-speed automatic transmission. In terms of performance, the P250 is claimed to accelerate to 100 kph in just 6.5 seconds, while consuming 5.2 L/100 km. The P300 model will be the brisker of the two, with 0-100 kph dispatched in a claimed 5.9 seconds and it's said to consume 6.7 L/100 km.

The vehicle comes as standard with a 5-year care (maintenance) plan, which comprises a 100 000-km warranty and paid-up servicing within a 5-year period, whichever ends first.

Jaguar design boss doesn't want to 'keep chasing' the (German) pack
Jaguar’s design chief says he’s doesn’t “want to keep chasing the pack”, claiming the British brand should be “setting the pace” in terms of styling.
Julian Thomson, Jaguar’s design director, told Autocar India he had recently been “experimenting with the boundaries of what the brand can be”.
“Now is the time for changing the backdrop and to really start afresh," he stated.
Thomson explained he felt adopting a stronger brand identity would make Jaguar stand out from its numerous rivals.
“We are seeing lots of new brands from China, start-ups from America and a lot of strong competition, particularly from the Germans. So it is very important that we establish a very strong Jaguar identity going forward. For a brand like Jaguar, we really want to build on our history because that is what our customers want, be part of that exclusive club.”
