Welcome to the high-fashion Morgan Super 3
Morgan collaborates with swimwear brand Orlebar Brown for a strange, rag-topped Super 3
This is a Morgan Super 3, made in collaboration with high-end swimwear brand Orlebar Brown. And it arrives just in time for beach weather... in the southern hemisphere. Which is a rather long way from Morgan’s home in Malvern.
But it’s hard to argue that the Super 3 is particularly far from home for Morgan, given that it’s been in the business of maximum fun for minimal mechanical bits since 1909 – when Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan built a car for himself and experienced its potential first-hand.
And it’s that ‘minimal mechanical bits’ part of the equation that goes a long way to explaining the four-decade run of Morgan three-wheelers up to the 1950s – and their return back in 2012. Although we’re sure the ‘maximum fun’ part didn’t hurt its cause, either.
You may notice it’s called the Super 3 now, rather than the more prosaic (but Ronseal-test-passing) 3-Wheeler, but the formula is broadly similar – two tyres for steering and one for power. The big change, as you may have noticed, is that the engine is now inside the bonnet, rather than in front of it. What will they think of next?

Morgan Super 3 Malle Rally Special
Morgan and Malle London are continuing their successful collaboration with the introduction of a co-designed Super 3 Malle Rally Special, delivered to customers complete with the full Driver's Collection of Morgan x Malle apparel and accessories, and entry into one of the future Malle rally events, throughout Great Britain, across the Alps or up into the Arctic.
Launched at The Malle Mile Festival in Lincolnshire, the Super 3 Malle Rally Special celebrates the adventurous spirit of Super 3 and embodies Malle London's 'Prepared To Get Lost' philosophy. The introduction of the new special follows a year of adventure and exploration between the two companies, in which a specially commissioned Super 3 Malle Rally Support Vehicle has embarked on adventures around the UK and Europe.
The Great Malle Rallies
Ownership of the Super 3 Malle Rally Special includes an invitation to a future Malle Rally, where owners will be able to take part in an unforgettable week-long adventure in their own car. Those rallies include The Great Malle Rally in the UK, The Great Malle Mountain Rally in Europe and the forthcoming Great Malle Arctic Rally. The UK rally is the longest motorcycle rally in the UK, carving a 1,500 mile route from the most Southern tip to the most Northern tip. The European adventure is the longest motorcycle rally ever attempted across the entire Alps mountain range, carving a 1,500 mile route which takes in six countries in six days, from Austria to Monaco, taking in some of the highest drivable roads in Europe.

Now imagine that platform, but instead of the Ford-cribbed turbocharged 3-cylinder, it has an in-house developed electric motor and a rack of batteries good for 150 miles of range. How great would that be?

Morgan XP-1 Concept
Morgan Motor Company is planning its electric future and sharing details of a new development vehicle that will act as the forerunner to all future electric Morgan sports cars. Referred to as 'XP-1', the experimental prototype will provide key information to the engineers and designers at Morgan as they embark on creating the company's first production electric models. Developed over the last 12 months by Morgan's team of engineers based in Malvern, Worcestershire, XP-1 is based on Super 3's aluminium platform.
The striking prototype is not intended for production but has been created to enhance thinking in several key areas including driving characterisation, powertrain development, in-house EV competence and training, and new feature ideation and testing. Following 12 months of design and build, XP-1 will now embark on a comprehensive testing programme during the next 18-24 months, undergoing continual evolution to test new technology and features.
"We are immensely proud to be sharing XP-1 with the world and showcasing some of the first class engineering that takes place behind the scenes at Morgan. As we embark on our electric journey, this prototype will become a focal point of the engineering and design process, providing a wealth of insight and helping to build up our in-house EV capability.
