Test figures: Mitsubishi Destinator
Having touched down on SA shores, we put the Mitsubishi Destinator seven-seater SUV through its paces on our test strip.
The Mitsubishi Destinator made its local debut in March 2026. The two-strong model range is priced from R489 990 for the GLS and R569 990 for the range-topping, Exceed variant – the latter featured here. Both models employ a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 120 kW and 250 N.m of torque. Mitsubishi Destinator acceleration times
On our test strip, the Destinator completed the 0-100 km/h sprint in 8.80 seconds. The seven-seater reached the 60 and 80 km/h markers in 4.05 and 6.11 seconds, respectively. In the overtaking acceleration stakes, the Destinator recorded sprint times of 2.05 and 2.69 seconds between the 60-80 and 80-100 km/h increments, respectively. The 100-120 km/h sprint was completed in 3.64 seconds, and the 120-140 km/h in 5.08 seconds.
