20Mbs / 40Mbps Account???

Yeah, just got it too. But my line was done last night...
At my age, you learn to have a little bit of patience - I shall just wait till the end of the month and see where we all end up.
 
How do you know when your line speed has been doubled? So I guess my speed has been doubled as well or how can I check?

Telkom ADSL Speed Upgrades

Decided to try getting Telkom to reset our ADSL port today (M-WEB with 2Mb) and sure enough, then auto-upgraded and currently getting around 5.25 Mb. So looks to me like all who technically can will get it. Just had them reset my port. Operator first alleged that the was nothing untoward...

I'm sorry to have to be the one to tell you, but it looks like you're in the same boat as me: Our copper lines are just too crappy to support much more than 25 Mbps.

Grouter that telkom guest account details connects, but I can run a speed test?

Yes, but after a bit your SNR will drop (probably as the sun sets) and after it goes under 6 your port will drop and resync at a lower speed again, you're probably going to end up at 25Mbps again.
You're not going to get better than that, and it's already pretty good to hit that on 28dB attenuation.
