22" for 2K

I might go have a look later. I cant seem to make out which series it is, it seems to be the Q series which if it is, is a total steal but my gut says that the price should be R2999.

Damn thats looking good. Not too chuffed about the built-in speakers though.

a3dm86, Brand + model plz.

That is about the correct price for A 22" with only 5ms response.
Also what is the cd value or brightness?

I suspect it's the same as mentioned in this thread http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=109132

Perhaps a good article about monitors can be found on wiki (where else :p ).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thin_film_transistor_liquid_crystal_display
The interesting part can be found under "Display industry". The branding of screens per se:
The poorest-performing screens are then sold to no-name vendors or used in "value" TFT monitors (often marked with letter V behind the type number), the medium performers are incorporated in gamer-oriented or home office bound TFT displays (sometimes marked with the capital letter S), and the best screens are usually reserved for use in "professional" grade TFT monitors (often marked with letter P or S after their type number).
If that is true, then re-look at the model range you are looking at e.g. from the Fujitsu-Siemens site as quote Random717 "Convenience at low cost

" I am not saying it is a bad product, merely there is a reason a product is priced the way it is.

That does look too good to be true and Makro's website is known for its mistakes :(
Not a mistake, really 2k.

Could you also please post the exact model number?

is the ideal choice for entering the world of professional LCD displays.
Yep, quite eneterprising since this is my first very own lcd monitor.
The new pricing strategy definitely made it very appetising and i am very chuffed with my buy.
It didn't come with a cd though, which leads me to think it might be of lesser quality, but I tell you what, I got great service from makro and a 3-year fetch-and-return guarentee from fujisu siemens on a 22" for only R2K!

Mind posting a mini-review once you've used the LCD for a while?

Is it wall-mountable (VESA)?

Does it suffer from a lot of backlight bleed?

What type of panel is it? TN, PVA/MVA or IPS?

Will most definitely be a TN. You can add another R2000 for a PVA or IPS panel.

Lol ja. Even under R3500 you're unlikely to. If it was then i'd be there tom! Those panels are just so bloody expensive, but i suppose for good reason.

I've actually played with a 24" Fujitsu Siemens LCD at Makro and it's pretty sexy looking. Once you see it, you forget all about the "what pane does it have?" question because the quality is very good.
