22 Inch wide for games?

Okay so now I have the 2232GW and I officially have my 4850, in the Catalyst Control Centre is there the same option as Zulash stated where it automatically changes the aspect ratio for games not supported by wide screen?

I didn't set anything, but I'm believe it has something to do with this:

It works, but it doesn't change the FOV, so everything is streched a bit. But i don't think that matters much with War3.

I did find something that changes the FOV to the correct level for widescreen but it's part of a hack/cheat program so I don't think you'll be able to use it for DOTA. :)
 
I run Warcraft 3 1440x1050 with no stretching (perfect 4:3 - native is 1680x1050) and black bars one each side.
 
For W3, I need a 16:9 ratio resolution :(

Anyone play CSS on 1920x1080 on a 42"? Woooah! it rocks more than the rolling stones and the thing put together!:eek:
 
Blizzard never intended W3 to run at 16:9 (UI is designed for 4:3), try setting your gfx card to "fixed aspect ratio" and live with the fact that you'll have black border on each side (or stretching ).

Mine doesn't have a black border, unless I set my LCD TV to 14:9 or 4:3...

I want to run at 1920x1080 with a super high FOV so I can see hero's coming from a mile away!
 
Eish!?... you poeple with your 20"+ displays... still stuck with a 17" CRT!
Oh how I wish for a 19" LCD :)

It can never be too big :D

As for you CRT boys, we all had to learn on them. Playing CS on Aztec with a CRT was legend. Plus I can bet in the very near future LCDs will become relatively cheap especially due to HD coming onto the scene
 
I'm a little girl in a little room with a little desk... I used to work on a 24" iMac and I had to keep it a certain distance from me to be able to use it. I just don't have the room for it :P

Trust me, I really wanted the 2232GW for ages now. But I went to IC yesterday to take one last look before ordering and my heart sank when I realised I was gonna be uncomfy with the 22"

Oh well, the excess goes into my 8800GT kitty :cool:
