23"LED screen or power supply + CPU cooler??????????

howzit guys n girls, needed sum input...i recently came into a lil bit of cash:D onli problem is i dno what exactly to spend it on....my current system specs are as follows:

core i52500k
asus m-pro mobo
8gb 1600mhz ram
650w psu
gainward 2gb gtx 560ti
acer 22" 1680x1050

now do i buy a Led 23" 1080p monitor or do i purchase the psu an the cooler.....

oh btw ive got like R1800 to spend

your input will highly be appreciated
 
Your psu is fine. Your cooler... well... depends on if you intend to overclock. If not don't worry about it, screen is very important.
 
i am no fundi but is that screen really needing an upgrade?

psu is fine and like said why the need for a cooler unless you OC?

save the cash or spend it on something you need more.
 
hey man you have a not too bad screen... and you have a 2500k CPU. maybe go for like the Corsair liquid cpu coolers. The H80 or H100 if your case allow it. Then you can clock you pc a bit!! :)
 
I'd go for a cooler. A Corsair cooler if you want some niceties.
With my H60 I've managed to clock to 5GHz and keep it stable (and not too hot).

I've got a 23" and a 22" and if you put the two side by side you can barely see the diff (the 23" is basically a wider 22" (and maybe 3mm higher).

Keep your PSU unless it's a cheapy.

yep i read that this 2500k overclocks quite well so i wanna c hw that goes....and the screen is for gaming, i mean 1080p is awsum

but my 22" is max 1680x1050 and the 23" is 1080p
i will look into that cooler tho thnx

Yeah but my question is the difference on that size screen worth forking out that kind of money? Plus it is only one extra inch, yes that's what she said :p

1680x1050 vs 1920x1080...which would you go for honestly, if you had the means

But let's be realistic, the one he has in hand an dis the resolution difference on a screen that size noticeable is what I am asking?

Yes it's very noticeable you're kidding right. LED 23" 1080p vs 22" 1680 is a bit difference. No point wasting money on incremental CPU performance boost if youre going to be gaming on 1680 anyway.

16:10 22" vs 16:9 23". Tough choice. :( Better aspect ratio vs better resolution.

Would probably go with 23" IPS LCD at around R2,500 i.e. LG IPS235/6, far better than regular TN LCD panels.
 
Go for the screen...

But if I must be honest. I bought the Samsung 23" LED monitor and even though it is a nice screen, I find the colours a little bland due to the matte effect.

My buddy has a 2 year old LCD with a gloss finish which has richer colours (even though its contrast ratio is 20 000:1 and my LED is 5 000 000:1) than my LED monitor and his 40" bravia.

I don't know if you can get LED with a gloss finish on the screen but if you can, and glare is not a big issue for you, make sure you get it shiny...


PS: I am seriously considering swapping out my LED for a gloss finish LCD...

Meh, all this talk needs clarification. LED is LCD. Only the back-light differs. Correct term is LED-backlit LCD. And what more do we need than the above post to show us that it is pure marketing bs...
