I don't like LG and Viewsonic. They are usually overrated. And when you buy a 22" you get 21.5" viewable or a 24" and get 23.4" Viewable.

With the Samsung and Acer you get what you pay for. I also like the Samsung but why would I pay R4500 for a Samsung when I can get a Acer for R3700.
 
why get a 24" for R4000 when you get can a 22" for R2500 or a 32" for R6000?

doesnt make sense.

I would rather fork out another 1 grand and get 2 x 22" screens

or

Get a 32" screen which can double as a tv screen/console monitor.
 
Thanks for the replies. It is nice to see somebody else views. It does help getting a different perspective.
The Acer sounds great (just hope it also has a 3 year guarantee.)
And kevinswan007, that picture is wrong. I saw the screen at Makro and it does not look the same. I am a bit suspect about the 2ms claim as I could not find a screen on the Fujitsu-Siemens site with 24" and 2ms.

I'd vote for saving some cash and getting the 22'' acer in that case:)

Fair enough:-) if i had the cash i'd love a 24. Maybe soon they'll come down go price a bit. For now, i'm really glad i got a 20 and not a 19 inch. Big difference.

Yip, I also used a 19" (Not Wide Screen) up to now. Tomorrow I will be setting up my 24" Wide. That is going to be such a huge improvement from a normal 19" to a 24" Wide.

Cant wait for tomorrow.:D
 
Piesang, what model of Acer did you get (P243W - 24" Wide?) and where? Is it a 1,2 or 3 year guarantee?

I got the X243W. I don't like the Crystal Bright Screen of the P243W. My Packard Bell Laptop has got a Crystal Bright Screen and its not nice to use when you have a window or bright light behind you.

I got it with a 3 year guarantee. I bought the last one at Incredible Connection so I got it at a discounted price.
 
If you have access to a AXIZ account, you can buy a Acer 26"Wide LCD, AL2623W For R4417 incl.

Thanks Piesang. I agree that the Crystal Bright Screen type displays can be an issue. My current laptop has 1 of those types of displays and at times can be real annoying. Other than the bright "thingy", I like the specs of the P more than the X, but the price is R500 more :eek:
