Worst case scenario it will be the same as another ref design 5850. So just get it :D But that link from ikonit shows a reference cooler
Yeah, the image shows a reference cooler, but I've searched for the product code CGAX-58524FDP, so it's definitely the non-reference one.
I've had bad luck with the Inno3D GTX 460 768MB non-reference card, where the fan speed was 2850rpm (40%) compared to the reference design one of 1600rpm (40%).

I would appreciate it if someone could give me links to benchmarks/reviews of tis non-reference HD 5850 card!

Cant find squat on the stock clock non reference Club 3D 5850 :( but since it has the same cooler as the OC version you can judge by that, and reviews I've read so far so that it is quiet

I've got the OC version. It's like Archer said, a 5850 is a 5850 no matter who makes it. I can tell you though that the cooler makes a big difference. It's a lot quieter than the reference design. Overall I'm very happy with my card. It performs well, is quiet and cool. I originally wanted to buy an MSI Twin Frozr II but they were out of stock so I gambled with the Club 3D card. It's a good buy.

Thanks Solitude. I'll see if Prophecy can get hold of them (the non-reference HD5850 cards), because I actually don't need to get such high framerates as the 2x GTX460's would give me.

Club 3D >

I got the Club 3D 4890 Superclocked edition, and its a Beast

Why dont you wait a while, the 6xxx series ATI cards are being released in the 1st quarter. Anyway, the 5770 is great, i think its a great upgrade from you current card, it has dx11 as well. 256 bit is obviously better than 128 bit, but the 4850 doesnt execute instructions as fast as the 5770, thanks to the 4 pipelines that the 5770 has. I think that the 460 is the better choice, its better than the 5770 and cheaper. Thats the only good card in nvidia's 4XX series cards.

HD5770 is R500 cheaper than the GTX460... 5770 also gives better value for money. Its average FPS is lacking thats all. Also, 6000 series cards are being released next week, not Q1 2011.

For real??? thats not what anandtech and dailytech said:wtf:
But hey if thats so then great...cant wait

Take a look at this review.

What Anandtech are you reading? Linky
We will be launching our second-generation DX11 graphics offerings next week.
We'll be introducing our second-generation of DX11 technology into the market with some launch activities actually next week. We'll be shipping all the family members of that product line I'll call it, by the end of this quarter, and total volume think in terms of several hundred thousand, or hundreds of thousands of units.
ie the full line up of 6000 series GPUs will have been launced before the end of this year.

Then please clarify what I'm meant to see from that review? PS - I've already use the data from HWC (and several other sites) to compile a list of best cost/fps cards, see my sig.

nah i was just giving a link to read before anyone decides on what to buy. Wow i really had no idea that its releasing next week, i think i work too much.lol you've got one mean case...im waiting for bulldozer though.

Sorry about the link, i read it a while back, probably when ATI was still trying to get an answer from Nvidia's offering.
