28-pin IDC connectors

Got a picture? Male female? If it is like a floppy drive connector you could "trim" a floppy cable, or gently take one off a floppy cable.

Speak to Jaycor in Kramerville. They can make these things up pretty quickly and easily. If they can't help, then call Otto who have done some pretty specialized IDC connectors for us in the past.

The normal PC 3.3" stiffy uses a 34 pin connector, so they must have made up their own board to fit on the drive. As a last resort, you could try swapping the board on your drive with that on a stiffy as long as the interface to the hardware is OK. Obviously yhis will only have a chance of working if the board is till OK.

That's just the point I won't know if the boards still working unles I first get the Floppy drive working or at least know that it is working...The chances of the Flash Ram not working could be noted, the whole point is I need to get it to someone who is an expert fixing computers to look at it as the E4K is a computer in it's self

The I guess you've got very little chance of success unless you can find a user group :(

I suggest, if you haven't already tried, that you try and find contacts at

http://www.keyboardmuseum.org/links/links.html

http://www.emu.com/support/custsup.asp

http://www.emu.com/support/legacy.asp

as a starting point.

And finally, try this one first:

https://www.eprelectronics.com/parts.htm

Good luck!

Thanks for your help.
The biggest problem here is that Emu was bought out by Creative labs, and they discontinued making the Sampling synthesis controller and also don't carry spares or support them any more

Thanks will do

Did you know that these keyboards cost R70,000. in 1996

There are very few of them left in the world and I'm probably the only one in S.A. who has the E4K Sampling synthesis controller, which is not so great as I cannot find someone who knows how to repair them

You're ten fscking years late to the party! :D

****, sorry i didnt see that.
Yeh i might be late asking also but maybe not?! I decided to take out my XT and 486, but now im sad, looks like my original Floppy disk drive with the flap , i threw away i reemmber it was faulty when i was copying Leisure Suite Larry 1
for some bloody reason every time i copied it and got home it would be "bad sector"
I then reliazed it was my floppy drive
I got another one so thats what I have is the non-original.
Anyways, you or anybody here dont perhaps have FLOPPY or STIFFY disks hey?
