Hi forum
I took this data contract over 2 years ago, I was told it was capped, if 2GB finished it must stop working,
a few times I exceeded my 2GB a little bit, I called to check with Vodacom how, they still told me they dont know how it happens but my line is capped, november 2017 they told me I owed R5336...just for November alone, they went and debited my account, so I went and reversed it and paid only R109 as per contract, I also sent a notice to cancel the account as it was running Month to Month on 04 December, I recently got a call from Vodacom telling me I owe them R49455.99 but they are not telling me where this amount came from,
What should I do to clear this matter? as I feel I'm being Robbed and Bullied by Vodacom to pay the Debt I dont even know, if then I owed R5336 November last for whatever their reason, How did they get to R49455.99 now in February 2018?
Please forum.., advise or help me deal with this.

They sent it to debt collectors, legal costs added.

- Postpaid capped means anything exceeding goes OOB 1R/MB.
- Topup capped means Internet feed will stop? Not! It will continue deduct from your available airtime (if any) at the rate R2/MB.

Check your T&C. Also check what you can get for R99p/m: https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/campaign/online-only-deals/

- Huawei E5573 LTE MiFi router
- 5.5GB p/m, plus double night data
- 100GB once off all networks data valid for one year.

Someone really needs to take Vodacom to task with their reckless lending. How does someone on a R109/m contract suddenly qualify for R50k worth of credit?

Vodacom customer care.. get a print out of your account details including statements..

You could be a victim of fraud meaning someone has taken out additional contracts on your name and cancelled them,., i read in another thread here this happened to someone else..

I had a very similar problem with Vodacom back in 2006, cancelled, settled, and from that point on I have not spent a single cent on their network. And my bill was about R1 000 more than it should have been over 3 or so months. I would go ape**** at the kind of amounts you are talking about.

Is there nothing that could be done to these thieves?

I had a similar issue with Helkom. I extended my 24 month data contract by another 24 months. Before this, my contract was set as stopped after I have depleted my monthly allocation of data. But when I extended the contract for another 24 months, this setting was cancelled and 2 months later I got a bill close to R1000 bucks. I phoned them and queried this with them and said that it should have been communicated to me about this, but of course they did not. All these networks must be taken to task. The abuse of power.
