Hi all,

I have swapped my Desktop modem with a friend's USB modem because I wanted the portability. But the USB modem does not allow me to connect. I have entered the correct userid and password but it tries to connect and then fails saying that UserId/Password is incorrect?

Is my account somehow linked to my specific modem (UTID)? If so, how can I get this changed? May I add two modems(UTID's?) to my account because I may be swapping back to my desktop modem at times?

My friend and I have two separate accounts, so I am not trying to connect using two modems at the same time to the same account...

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,
Cloudie

If I recall from when I got my modem (second-hand) you need to contact iburst and inform them in writing that you have given your modem (quoting it's UTID) to your friend, your friend needs to do the same for you. I remember it being a fairly straightforward thing to sort out.

I find that stupid and irritating. You can only use your modem for your account!

Why would you ever want to use your modem on anyone elses account?

It's safer that it can only be used on one account as well as making the modem useless if it should ever get stolen, if you need a second modem then just contact iBurst and let them know the modem/account details.
