Looking for a Laptop HDD

Hi guys,

The HDD of my Acer Travelmate 4050 collapsed and I need to buy a replacement drive. Can anyone quote me on say a 60GB ATA drive? If possible, I'd like to purchase it from someone in the PTA area.

Many thanks!

When I boot up my system after the Gateway screen I get 'Disk Error. Press any key to restart.'

So, I'm thinking it's a disk error? I did install my HSDPA modem last night before it gave me these problems but I doubt it'd be that? I kind of let my laptop slip and it slammed against my desk :/.

Hey guys,

I do have an E220 but it's not attached when I boot up the system.

Hi all,

This is now my second pc to stop responding after installing and connecting the E220. Whenever I boot up my one pc it gives me a blue screen and keeps restarting before I even get into Windows XP.

The second pc gives me a general boot disk error before I can even start up. What's the problem? Is this a known issue? How do I fix it?

I have narrowed it down to the E220 because it's more than coincidence that both pcs ceased to work after having the E220 connected. I've subsequently disconnected it from the USB ports with no difference.

Maybe send your E220 in and have the Vodacom techies check it out. I don't remember seeing this "problem" with the E220 on this forum before.

Same Problem

Well, from BIOS I get:

HDD Model Name: TOSHIBA MK4025GAS
HDD Serial Number: X F42P02S5

My Toshiba MK4025Gas also dead and I also have a E220 modem on my system. Does you drive make a GRR GRR sound.

I don't see how an E220 can just 'blow' a PC. Something must have been wrong with the PC to begin with, otherwise every E220 user should have a broken PC.

It reminds of this one customer i gave VMC 9.3 to for his Data Card. He came back the next day saying his PC blew after installing the Software. And i sat there thinking for a moment The Vodafone Software BLEW his PC????
