3 graphs which show how expensive MTN's data is

MTN South Africa said it is aware of ICASA’s latest tariff report and the findings within it.

“MTN has not yet engaged with ICASA on the contents of the report and welcomes the opportunity to discuss each of the territories mentioned, and the criteria by which they were selected, with the regulator,” it said.

This is all akin to we know we are bloody expensive in South Africa. We do not give a rat's ass because it is good for profit margins. Now shut up and lube up for more of the same.

I would also like to know how MTN makes data disappear so fast after overcharging me

What have the graphs got to do with MTN? I opened the link to see if there's a bar comparing MTN to the rest or is the SA graph supposed to be representative of MTN?

I see Zambia is in there. MTN charges about R60 (equivalent) in Zambia for 1.5Gb per month and R30 for 1Gb weekly. They're not even the cheapest there and they lowered priced in response to competition but both them and Voda will obviously not lower prices here because they see no reason to given that they're running a de facto duopoly

These graphs are misleading. While I think data in SA is expensive, anything that is compared to countries that I see on the graphs is going to appear expensive.

Cell-C Giga 30 Prepaid R899 - valid for 365 days FTW
30GB valid for 365 days.
R30 per GB with an Avg of 2.5GB per month

MTN, VCOM can fall.

I don't care for these networks anymore. I will always fall to the one that has the BEST & I mean THE BEST deals to offer consistently! They have fallen off the wagon as far as my usage is concerned & the only good thing about mtn is my nr is kept! Nothing more. Same with vdcom. I buy airtime only to phone when necessary but use Telkoms deals for data etc.... I have increased my internet usage & ability to stream at a lower cost by more than 50% reduction.
