3 hours then nothing!

Is anybody else having 3 hours of decent speed (Neotel Lite unlimited) and then a sudden drop off in down and upload speed, this stays erratic for hours and then suddenly all is well again? No pattern noticed in terms of time of day when the speed drops.

I have also noticed that if I am downloading torrents (not the fastest as the best of times but you have to take what you can get) the same thing happens but can be resolved by changing the port to another random port. This works for another 3 hours and then the speed drops again! Could this be Neotel messing around with me or is it something common? All ports have been opened, however I am going to get them to verify this today.

Advice please!

I have Prime Unlimited, and have been experiencing problems with speed for last 2 weeks.

Up and Down, Down etc...

Comon problem at the moment.

I'm experiencing the same thing on Prime Unlimited. Extremely erratic for the past two weeks.

I had my first day yesterday with Neotel's NeoConnect Prime Unlimited and I'm horribly upset.

I've sent Neotel a PM and hoping he can help me but basically;

No matter where I download from, I get ± 20kb a sec average speed - this includes games.saix.net (which is local)
I was downloading from international newsgroups and got 50 to 100kb a sec but it was up and down like a porn star.

According to the official package information on Neotel's web site, my average speed should be between 300 and 700... the day I see 200kbps a sec I might wet my pants!

Anyways, as I said, sent Neotel a PM - hopefully, he can help me fix this.

I know that Neotel is new, with anything new, there are 'teething' problems, but this is pathetic but I'm willing to be a bit patient.

its about time, Because for the last 2 week, the Neotel Rep as not replied.

Lets see what is happening.

Im also getting 20KBS..... Except last night breifly when the storms hit in JHB, then speeds went up......
