30 cops sent to stop a pub band

Standard. Police everywhere prefer busting up parties full of people doing dangerous things like having fun.

There's one things that I can't understand - why do ppl have to play their music at excessive volume?

They can get bribes from druggies they catch at a party. Its a bit harder to take a bribe from a rapist or murderer if everyone knows about it. I swear the average pig is coining it from bribes..

Harassing blind men? Ha! What about those rapes and murders elsewhere?

The issue was NEVER drunk patrons, it was the volume of music. Now they claim they were sent to deal with drunk patrons. What a load of hogwash. Its bloody Alec Erwin syndrome: deny, deny, obfuscate, deny.
 
Just read about the state goons raiding, and assaulting patrons at, some bars in Stellenbosch. All part of the state's war on drugs.

Drug raids on bars and clubs typically produce few to no arrests, although they usually do find drugs about the place. Bribes are not likely to be profitable even if they arrested more people, but the drugs might. Drug raids on clubs and bars have always been popular with the police. A big part of this is because it is easy work, there's rarely any danger, they get to be bullies (which they love).
 
How many cops does it take to stop a pub band? 30, 2 to turnoff the amplifier and 28 to take advantage of the happy hour...

Ain't that the truth. But I think you're over-estimating. They'll get the owner to turn off the amp, no one wants to miss out on happy hour.
