30GB for R349 inclusive

While all the price reductions are great, it's simply still not good enough. Think about it. Even at these prices a 512kbps connection on a 30GB account will cost you R499 + R87 + R349 = R896 per month. That's still terribly overpriced. The price would need to be halved to even move into the expensive side of acceptable.

I'm happy with the reductions, but it shouldn't lul members of this forum into a false sense of satisfaction. The price reductions are probably the direct result of MyADSL and Hellkom creating public awareness and placing a lot of pressure on Telkom. It needs to continue. This should only be the first of many price reductions.

Notice Do Not Miss This!!!

Hi all,

JUST to let you know, Telkom is offering free installation during the month of july so apply now and you get the installation for free. or so they state.

I have a question about this service.

you mean to tell me that once you have downloaded the 30GB local/international, that there will be no local browsing and downloading?

I agree 100%. We're just scratching the tip of the iceberg IMO. Telkom needs to completely do away with the adsl line rental IMO. The r87 they're charging is ample.

The Telkom contract only ties u in as a Telkom ADSL subscriber, not Telkom as an ISP.

It doesn't even do that, I subscribe in advance to ADSL with Telkom. If I don't pay 1 month they cut me off. If I decide I don't want it anymore I can cancel it on that day.

This is as far as I understand but then again, who at Telkom really knows what is going on.

Agreed TMoose. I won't be happy until ADSL (including at least 30GB) costs no more than R350 p/m all inclusive.

So, although the price drop from the ADSL ISP's is absolutely wonderful, it's not nearly enough. We have to carry on putting pressure on Telkom to drop the ADSL line rental charge.

how do you guys feel about the service only offering the amount said and not letting the local bandwidth stay? have inquired about this and am waiting for a response.

i think that they are not paying for local so why cut it out?

..... Just thinking to myself again..

I reckon (totally my opinion) Telkom wants to limit traffic on their network. If its local or international they still have traffic on their network. And local p2p hubs tend to allow people to go bananas. Would the local cap not try to limit overall network usage? Which i think is bollox anyway

Why??????

Has telkom finally put something in place that stops the local bandwidth from being used??

Have they now restriced the local bandwidth also ?!!!!

IS this the TRUTH!???

IF SO

I WILL REALLY GO KO!!!!!!!!

Can no one finally do something about this!!!!
This is exactly why terrorism starts!!!

If they don't start doing something then people are going to take matters into their own hands!!!

Not saying thats what i would do but that is not how other people would feel and act!!

Axxess

Sorry if this has been posted already. Been away from my PC the whole day. :)

I see Axxess has matched these prices.
A 30GB connection is going for R349.00. :D

This the sort of thing we have all been waiting for. Well done.
Had the SNO been up and running 2 years ago like they should have, we might have seen rentals of below R100.00 by now.
