What he actually wants is free internet. However nice that might sound, for some reason, I don't think that will ever happen here.

Yeah - I got that ;) I just choose to use that moniker because he did. Those sort of comments dont exactly fill me with confidence.

Added - At the end of the day its my money and I'll spend it how I see fit.

its sad that uncapped acc's don't push smaller acc prices down  but then i guess its cause of the min wholesale prices etc. and they going acc. to sats etc. anyways i'm happy with the deal i got. now just to get rental down more.

krycor, If I understand your shorthand, that uncapped account gets international access through SAIX Sat3. not IS Satellite

You have to admit though that someisp.com has been pulled through the washer in these forums for no real reason.

When an isp comes along and offers something at cost (or very near to it, R5 profit is not really worth the hassle some clients produce) everyone complains. Then when an isp comes and offers below cost everyone complains that they don't understand how the isp can do it (and almost go into saying the isp is doing something wrong to be able to offer at these prices).

The general running down of everyone that posts new offers (I personally feel that if you have an offer you should not be allowed to post it, it should be part of your signature. If a post is created to describe your offer by you, you are basically spamming the boards) is harming MyADSL (and some people seem to support the harm that this causes the community). These actions are causing more people to shy away from the forums (I don't find the forums to be as usefull and as enjoyable read as they used to be. I also know of others that seem to share the same sentiment).

I don't agree with you Gangrel.

I enjoy reading new offers etc. It allows us as users to comment on the offers, providing the isp with feedback.

I would be very upset the day these forums ban new offers from being posted. The whole point of this forum is to discuss broadband, and ISP offerings fall in this context as far as i'm concerned.

Probably every ISP has had their wares dissected by one forumite or another.

At times various ISPs have touted packages that on the surface looked like a worthwhile deal but after discussion/discection by the forumites they turned out to be anything but. I'm sure there are forumites who are glad they found out sooner than later.

I may not have a choice who I get my ADSL line from but I sure do when it comes to who else gets my money and if you want to play silly buggers I'll simply go elsewhere.

I'd have to disagree about posting prices/offers in sigs - that would just get to be too much advertising IMO. I do however think they should be required to say what company they represent in the place of the usual forum ranking and also that a separate forum area be established for letting members know about new offerings.

That is a much better idea than having the general area cluttered with offerings, that way if I am looking for a new ISP I can go look under this section (instead of searching through genereal for hours trying to find the offers, or being confronted with offers when I'm not looking for them).

The problem with this is not the fact that people are looking into the offers of ISP, their support and so forth. The problem is that allot of the "dissecting" appears to come from other ISPs or strong supported of other ISPs (there are certain members that when a post about a certain ISP is posted immediately jump up and post how great the isp is, but then when a post about another isp is posted they again immediately jump up and post, but this time asking questions like "why is your price so high?" or post about the previous ISP saying how great they are again.

I appologise for the slight derailment of this thread that I have cause :o
