Hi there. i'm looking for a full hd LCD TV for about R4K-R4500 or less. I wan't to use it for my ps3 and I do play games that is in full HD 1080p.

So far makro is the cheapest at R3999 for this sony 32" tv

Either or, but LED is nothing revolutionary in terms of improved picture quality. It's still an LCD in that regard, with LED back-lighting.

Sony CX520 range seem to have dim back-lights for some reason.

I would strongly consider the Samsung LA32D550 at around R3,500, arguably the best 32" CCFL LCD at the moment. Works great as a PC LCD too.

R3699 seems to be the norm (New World, Hirsch's, Cats Digital etc etc) ... Game has it on special for R3499 about every 2nd -3rd week it seems, you just have to be patient and watch their leaflets on Tuesdays for the upcoming specials ...

... or screw the R200 difference and just go and buy it!!! :)

Sony 40" FHD @ Makro was R4400 on sale 2 weeks ago.
My dad got 1.

the 32" was R3999 so R400 more, so 40" was a better buy.

Check dion wired pricing as well.

i was going to ask the same question about if the full hd lcd vs led lcd, but someone beat me to it. i am also on the lookout for a 32" screen. guess the Samsung LA32D550 is the best bang for buck ito features. where is it the cheapest in cape town. i do have a game account and might just buy it on terms and pay it off in 3 months. how much is it at Game.

looks like the Samsung LA-32D550 32" LCD TV is sold out currently at Game and they waiting on stock. might be a couple of weeks before we see them. they on special i here.

Check Makro, although they're normally about R3,999. Also check Hifi Corp. Also check Tafelberg.

Looks like Tafelberg are the cheapest, its going for R3799
wonder if there is any other place thats cheaper.

Well now you just need to take that price to a Game with stock and they will beat it by 10% of the difference in prices.

Remember to make sure you don't get the LA32D501 or similar - the dead giveaway is the 1 x HDMI port. This is a diluted 5 Series TV which lacks features, stay away.

I saw the LA32D501 and it only have 1 hdmi and 1 usb port and cannot plug your external drive or memory stick in.
I got the quote for the Samsung LA-32D550 32" LCD TV. it went for R3799 and took measurements to see if it will fit nicely in my room. There was also a 26" LED samsung going for a similar price, but its not full hd and only has 1 usb port and no hdmi ports. I nedd to check the room which 1 will fit better and make up my mind.

PostmanPot you said that they will beat that price by 10%. So do you mean it will actually cost me R3420 at Game. if so then i will check which branch has it still. will take it on account.

10% of the difference between Game and xyz cheaper store's price. So if they differ by R500, you get R50 off.

nah the 32" is too big in my room.looking for a nice 26"-29" full hd/led lcd. where can i find 1 for a really good price. Game had a Samsung 26" LA26D400E model for R2699. is there anything better in that price range or cheaper. i lay about 2m away from the tv.

Nice TVs seem to start at 32". Unless the 26" Samsung uses a decent PVA panel like the 32". AFAIK smaller than 32" TVs tend to use inferior TN LCD panels akin to PC LCDs - poorer colour, viewing angles, etc.
