No... There is effectively no such thing as a 720i or 1080i HD TV in the market. All HD TVs on sale are progressive by nature (Plasma and LCD) so an "i" (interlaced) input signal will be converted to a "p" (progressive) signal before it is displayed.Hey this isn't going to be helpfull but don't want to start a new thread seeing that I want to discuss the same thing. Will you see and experience a big difference between a progressive(780p / 1080p) and a non-progressive(780i / 1080i) HD TV.
You would probably see a difference between a 1080i and a 1080p (there is no such thing as 720i) signal on fast moving footage on a Full HD screen as there would be less motion blur on p. That is the sum total of the difference between them.
