Recently saw a LED TV going for R6000 at a Nashua shop, with Nashua not being the cheapest around, why don't Game and other places stock the 32" LED Tv?

Is it really worth the extra R2000?

What make and model? Full HD? That sounds like a very good price.

To me the biggest advantages of LED TVs (or rather LED backlit TVs) are
* longer life (no fluorescent tube and high voltage electronics)
* lower power consumption
* thin construction
* higher contrast and brightness
* better colour reproduction
* less of an environmental hazard when disposing of the equipment
I think the premium for LED TVs will become much smaller within the next year or so. I would not consider buying unless it is LED backlit.

There is a Samsung UA32C4000 advertised for R6000 - is that the unit you are referring to? Unfortunately it is not HD.....

Not sure about the specs, just walked past it, as at the time I was more interested in a LCD. Will post if I go in again this week.

Yeah, the new line of Samsung LEDs is 4 series- HD ready 5-6 series - Full HD and 7-8 Series is 3D and Full HD

Agreed. At 32", you're not going to see the difference with the naked eye.

Unless you are running blue rays or xbox or ps3 in full hd... You will see a difference if you sit closer than 3m...

At the risk of starting an unnecessary debate, I have to disagree. Even that close, the likelihood of you actively spotting a difference is minimal. There obviously ARE differences but you'd have to have a seriously keen eye to spot them and you'd have to be doing a 1:1 comparison with both sets next to each other and paused on exactly the same frame.

+1

1080p 32" screens are a bit pointless. you really start to appreciate the difference between 1080p and 720p at about 50".

My point exactly

I'll even go as far as saying that at a viewing distance of 4m the average man in the street won't see the difference on a 42". But that is heading way off topic
