what are the effects of using a 64k sim card i.e does it translate into higher speeds etc? Can one get a 64k sim on pre-paid?

If the 32k works fine a different sim shouldn't make any difference.

AFAIK, it does not affect speed. It allows you to store more messages / contacts and other sim based info. But most new phones store this info on the phone itself.
