384 line enough for two players in bf3?

My brother and I couldn’t play Counter-strike 1.6 on a 384 connection at the same time. It just didn’t have enough upload bandwidth available. We would both lag constantly.

I expect BF3 uses far bandwidth more than 1.6 ever did.

I doubt it as it basically just deals with player positions & shots. It's not like it downloads graphical content.

Sorry for the bump - but just wanted to provide some feedback.

So I upgrade my line to 1mb - WOW are the results amazing.
For bf3 - even for one player - I would recommend at least a 1mb line. I cant understand how I figured a 384 line was alright.
There is now comparatively no lag, and things just seem to react like they should. No delays or glitches.
To sum it up - once u upgrade to 1mb, bf3 is a whole new level. Even with 2 players, it seems like the game is running smoothly and consistently.

I pulled off 2 players in BF2 back in the day on 384k, ping was same as if I played alone (~30ms). I'm guessing BF3 could easily use about 8kb/sec or more upload for 1 player so there will be lag spikes for 2 players. 1mbit line would be ideal and it could probably handle 4 players or even 5.

If you lagged with 384k as a single player then your line sucked in general. For instance a friend of mine ALWAYS had pings of 100-120 on his 384k no matter what local server. Now on his 4meg (same residence) he gets about 60ms which is nothing to brag about.
