Hey guys

As the title states, Im wondering if a 384 line would be able to handle two players in a normal bf3 multiplayer map? So anything up to and including a 64 player map.

Ive done some reading and a few are saying 384 is not even capable of one player on a 64 player map. Utter nonsense if you ask me - Ive been playing since it came out on a 384 line and have had no issues.

I have a 384 uncapped line with MWEB.

Thanks for the help! :)

no ways I had a 384k line and could barely connect to bf...

(even with an unshaped account).

Bull cr** man I have a 384 Mweb uncapped and play regularly with no lag and a 20-30ms ping.

Also I play on pc on ultra.

bf3 takes about 20kps max, should be ok.

upload might be a problem, only 128k

Thanks for the heads up. Just to get specific though - how do you rate upload 'might' be a problem? How much upload does bf3 require and how much does a 384 line offer? Sorry I am a bit clueless here and would like to if its a narrow miss or upgrading is a definite requirement.

@Atheist - 384 lines work perfectly for one player yip :) Nokkie check your connection..

I doubt two people can play on a 384kbps line for BF3.

I play alone and I get 300ms ping, some days i get a 1000ms (highest was 1176ms) ping.

Hmmm, I'm playing with a 384Kb line, and while it's ok some of the time, it does suck every time windows decides to check for updates, or something uses the internet briefly.

I think there's enough bandwidth for two players, but if anything connects to the net while gaming, you will crap yourself.

Also, I feel like I'm at a serious disadvantage as my connect isn't 100% smooth, so there's loads of times when my shots aren't counted!

+1 the nr one reason why it sucks to have 384k line :(

The number of times I've knifed and used the defibrillation on people (like three or four times of repeated knifing/defibillating) and have them turn around and shoot my arse :(.

Thankfully Ive had no problems with the knife, but ye Ive also noticed the defillibrator not working at times :(

Alright so it seems for smooth playing - with two players - it seems Im forced to upgrade then.
Thanks guys!

You won't regret to upgrade to a 4mb line. I have, since the upgrade everything runs so smooth...

Hi _Maximus_

From my experience I don't think that a 384 connection woulld work well for 2 players on BF3.

Keep in mind that there is a bug with rezzing on certain occasions where even if the dead guy has the "zap me" icon on him, under some circumstances you can't revive for whatever random reason. I'm on 4mb and have this problem too. This is said to be addressed in the upcoming patch.

I'm not sure of the exact numbers upstream and down but also consider VOIP requirements. I personally could not see myself playing this game without squad communication on VOIP (battlelog or other). Just sayin'.

384k adsl only has 128 upload. Upgrade to 1meg. Then you'll get 512upload.

We play two people on a 1024 line, works perfect, between 23 and 30 ping on local servers. We don't play international.

4mb - I wish! :P Ill be upgrading to a 1mb once my bro gets bf3.. More than that I doubt Id need the bandwidth.

Flanders - thanks for the reminder. Without VOIP bf really isnt the same.

Qwikslver -ok awesome, 1mb should be more than enough then.
Thanks Mweb guy. Good to know someones watching when mweb users need help!

My brother and I couldn’t play Counter-strike 1.6 on a 384 connection at the same time. It just didn’t have enough upload bandwidth available. We would both lag constantly.

I expect BF3 uses far bandwidth more than 1.6 ever did.
