Just ran the new 3D mark 06

On standard settings, and with nothing overclocked, i got 4332

Im using, a 7800GTX, and a AMD 4200X2, with 2 gigs of Ram.

Gonna maybe try get it past 5000. Will tell you if i do.

Plz post your scores so we can see how the scores fair of the graphics card and Cpu ranges

Wow 4cer, that is quite a beefy system you have got there.
Cant you post a link as well.

I am curios to know what brand of 7800 you are using as my Nephew is in the market for a whole new system.
He was thinking of the Asus 939 Mobo and a Gigabyte GFX card with the trusty old Venice 3200+
He is on a budget. But he is adamant that he must have the 7800 with 512MB of Ram no matter what the cost and perhaps skimp with the processor as the latest Dual Cores are still pretty expensive.

I have 3D Mark06 on the Network in storage here at home, but the fellow whose PC it is on is not here and it is Password Protected.
But will post later when I can access the file and do some benchies.:)

my 7800GTX, is only 256Mb.

The 512 Meg versions cost an arm and a leg.

Mines a Sparkle, and contrary to what people said, its probably doing better than the brand names, it does better than my friends gainward. And i only paid R3800, compared to his R5200.

Sometimes a brand name will not bring you more speed etc.
The old Powercolour 9800 Pro in my sons machine was one of the cheaper brands at the time we bought it, but it had Samsung Ram Chips onbaord and it knocked the socks off many other 9800 cards.

Where did you purchase the Sparkle might I ask?

2700 3dmark2006 points.

AMD64 3000+
2gigs ram
AGP 6800 ULTRA

Remember that 3D Mark is a program that tests your future PC performance. (i.e in 1-2 years the games will use most of the features that is present in 3D Mark '06.

Still no scores posts ? what no1's card runs it ?

Im going to run it in about 4 hours, i'll post what i get.

3DMark Score 2823 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 1118 Marks

SM 3.0 Score 1022 Marks

CPU Score 1650 Marks

hmmmm I scored better than expected. My Gfx cards speed was not detected correctly though. Running it at 400Mhz GPU.
Also for the bench I ran the CPU stock will do a overclocked on to 2.4 and maybe higher later.

I need a better Gfx Card :( but will have to wait till I got cash and better cards are out.

3DMark06 = 1952 :(

Does stock mean 6600GT stock or Gainward Golden Sample 6600GT Stock? :)

Gainward ftw! :D

Tell you nephew he will be wasting his money. The new nvidia cards are on the way and his card will be "out of date" in 2 months. Tell him to wait a bit and get the new 7900GT or whatever card for less with more performance.

Never buy the best of the best because you end up paying a HUGE PREMIUM for 2-5% performance increase.
