3D mark 11 scores

With my Phenom II x 4 965BE @ 3.8 my scores was:

P5730

Graphics: 6331
Physics: 4469
Combined: 4449

Now with FX-6300 @ 4.3 i get:

P5937

Graphics: 5992
Physics: 5813
Combined: 5732

Why is graphics score now less with bigger , better CPU?

Did you reload windows after the upgrade? Did you use the same AMD driver?

just took old one out and put new one in..

I can only imagine it is 3dmark.

Have you tested both rig on the latest 3dmark? Your chipset is perfect and the cpu is quicker no doubt so either drivers or application.

If look at that link it is kinda scary considering the nearly 2k cpu price. Having said that it is a bit strange.

Perhaps the 965 be is on par with your cpu, most games don't use 6 cores anyways so you might find the 965be is holding it's own.

Run those two benchmarks and let us know the results, i would be interested to know. I would say it's either a 3dmark issue or the 965 is better suited for 3dmark, explanation for that i have none LOL. Clock for clock the 6300 may be slower, so whbile it has more cores they are slower than 4 core 965.

Well 1st, let me put it like this. a R2000 amd CPU is faster than R2000 intel cpu, as i understand. To get performance u have to pay more.

And i did get the 6300 due i have amd motherboard and might be streaming my gameplay soon , where more cores will help, or else i had to but mb again...maby next upgrade ill try intel.

And maby in near future games will start use more cores? lol

And i could not get the 965BE over 3.9, was also a 125w cpu using more power and run hotter.

Wont 6300 be better due more cache?

Super PI was done in 21secs (1M) with 6300. Cant test with 965 due i dont have it anymore...

I did only overclock with multiplier and tiny voltage increase....must i increase FSB also?

Yea then it has to be 3dmark. Don't worry so much about 3dmark, just worry about your performance. What card are you running?

got the powercolor HD7950 clocked to 1150/1500(6000) never go's over 51 deg, and fan never over 55%.
