Hi

I own a LG 42LX6500 tv which is is 3D Ready. The website says that to watch content in 3D, you will need an infrared emitter and also 3D spectacles.

I have the normal 3D glasses and they do not work with 3D movies. Does anybody know what an infrared emitter is and where you get them for LG tv's? Or is it a case of buying the Shutter type rechargeable 3D glasses that might have a built in infrared emitter?

Look forward to a response from people who might know.

That's really weird, I thought lg went with passive 3d? By the way, what 3d content are you trying to watch?

They did. This model TV has been discontinued, and so have the glasses, so I can only assume this is an old model that was replaced by the newer sets that use the passive glasses. Prior to the current LED's that make use of passive glasses, all 3D TV's required Active Shutter glasses, LED's included.

Thanks for the responses. I will try the Active Shutter Glasses and see if that does the trick.

I tried watching a movie in 3D from a friend on my external and I know the content works on his LG tv perfectly fine with standard glasses.

Will let you know.

At a friends house or did you play it on your TV in 3d?

If it says Cinema 3d on the screen you can use your Cinema glasses on it.

Just remember the correct glasses model. LG TV's are very specific when it comes to to accessories.
