We went to watch the final at Nu Metro, Walmer Park last night in 3D. The image was difficult to watch, with only minor 3D effects present and quite a bit of blurring.

At half time, someone in the full theater realized that if you turn the glasses upside down, the 3D image appeared infinitely better! It made the world of difference, and the whole 3D effect came alive. Pretty soon, everyone in the theater had their glasses upside down!

Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a fault of the cinema setup?

Yes it was that cinema's setup. I watched it at Emperors Palace and it was awesome, no tech glitches whatsoever.

Wow you have to be real smart to instal a projector upside down. Never went to see a game in 3D unfortunately. The lack of commentary would have annoyed me, even though the commentato on SS3 sounded as if he was hitting a bong every 5 seconds.

Hell that was annoying! I thought he was doing lines of coke off some hooker.

So I want to know I've not yet had the privilege of attending a 3D theater I live to far from civilized society. Whats better watching a made for 3d animation or soccer?
And having already seen the game on tv would it really be worth it to watch it again in 3d?
I've been to a live game and would love to know if it comes close it.

The cinema 3D version did have commentary - and he wasn't suffering from any nasal afflictions...

I went to a live game and saw the 3D version, and the 3D version doesn't compare. It's great to experience the technology, but for that, rather see a made for 3D animation.

Happened at a Ster Kinekor as well. We watched Alice in wonderland. They restarted the movie 2 times while trying to fix it but couldn't get it right. We also ended up wearing the glasses upside down.

I saw the Ger-Spa semi final at SK. The main problem for me was the blurring and flickering during camera pans and rapid movement. However, try it once if you get a chance, because it is pretty cool. They use different cameras with lower angles and more close-ups than the normal feed. I wouldn't do it often though, since the flickering and blurring gave me a bit of headache. Also, don't sit any further forward than the back 5 rows or so as sports is very unsuited for close-up viewing.

In contrast I found Toy Story 3 in 3D to be a very pleasant experience as it seems to have been made with the tech in mind, making it far more bearable.

3D soccer makes you feel like you're on the field and that's what I enjoyed the most. For me it's better than being at the stadium.
