I think I saw a youtube vid from the coolit systems guys where they got 17k with 3dmark. not sure about the version. might be 05 or 06. the coolit eleminator rawks. (TEC)
You must have overclcoked that cpu or gpu quite a bit to get to 14000. I get about 8600 when I overclock my cpu to 2.8 and just over 10 k when I overclock the cpu to 3ghz and gpu to 625/1000.
Man im not gonna download 06 its 600 meg double the size of 05 damn thats nasty. But im telling you i did clear 14k on 05. Matbe 06 will chop it in half?
Ok I installed the drivers that came with my 8800gts and suddenly I get around 4600 3dmarks06. Thats a drop of just under 3000!!!!! wth!!
Anyway I read a thread where even a 4800+ x2 amd can "bottleneck" an 8800gts and as a result the guys overclock their cpu's and achieve much higher gfx results.
As my CPU temp is around 50' degrees overclocking is not an option right now but I am busy downloading other drivers to see.

Are you all sure you are using default settings lol
I mean I could probably get 13k if I bring settings down to performance etc... and with a few tweaks you neva know.
I had to format my PC as it was crashing for some unknown reason.
Anyhow I loaded my original BIOS, got hold of forceware 165.01 for xp32bit and installed 3dmark06 straight after windows install and everything. Got around 6800marks. It's weird how my results keep jumping :/
benchmarks show how your rig will scale according to next gen content etc...
you don't have to care nobody is asking you to...
Its safe to assume Futuremark is not targeting you for their benchmarks so don't worry too much about our scores,. You can stick to the games exclusively
