3G and VPN question

I recently setup a Windows Server down in Cape Town for RRAS (VPN). Works fine for most of the consultants, but now I have 2 guys in Pretoria getting Error 721 and Error 806 on a regular basis. Both use Vodacom 3G modems. Checked firewalls, etc on both machines, and it's not that.

Any way I can test where the problem lies? Am a little stupid with VPN and protocols and crap, any way I can ping / tracert the VPN server to see where the down the line the port gets blocked?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You might need the unrestricted apn to be activated.

Ok, I found a thread (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/32730-Unrestricted-APN) that explains this. Will first try the internetvpn APN and see how that goes, otherwise I'll have them try the unrestricted APN. I see the thread is from 2005, do they still need to fill in forms / etc to get the unrestricted APN?

Nope, do not. Will get them if needed. I just found out now one of them is using HP's Connection Manager for her 3G connection, so I said they need to go to a Vodacom3G shop and ask the person there to help.

The internetvpn apn is not available any more , when you get the numbers let me know. The Hp connection manager should work cause you can edit the apn's
