I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, since last week my Vodacom 3G card started to connect to the internet whenever I plugged it in,the vodafone software isn't even open and even when I open it the option is there to connect to a 3G network. My antivirus is up to date and the fact that my connection isn't uploading or downloading anything out of the usual suggests it isn't a malicious (I hope). I only noticed it was doing this when my ipod touch started downloading mail and facebook updates.

Which Windows are you running?

And What version of the Software are you using?

Windows 7, not sure of the software version, will check when I am back at home tonight.

Yes it is enabled, so that my iPod Touch can receive updates. I will disable and see if it makes any difference. Thx

Why i'm asking is that i noticed recently with a customer that the Vodafone Modems/Software is somehow integrated with Windows 7. Without using the dashboard, you can configure the connection Windows 7 picks up to disable the PIN, connect automatically or not at all.

So as soon as you plug in the modem, Windows detects it, enters the PIN(if you saved/disabled it) and connects even before the VMC Dashboard starts up.

That makes a lot of sense as my PIN is saved, Just not sure why it only started doing all this on it's own last week. Could possibly be the iPod touch enabling it.

Maybe after a Windows update? (if you have it turned on)

Because it seems to be something integrated with Windows.
