When I insert my 3G Vodafone Data Card (Novatel U630 Huawei modem) into my desktop computer (I have a PCMCIA card), it freezes my pc and makes a "beeeeeeeep" sound. I have tried everything I could think of. Even uninstalled & re-installed drivers. My pc runs on Windows XP. Please can someone help me with this error. I'm not phoning the Vodacom help line as my dog knows more. (Have tried them on a previous occasion). Please!!

First see if there is a newer BIOS version for your PC, upgrade the BIOS and then do a reinstall of the PCMCIA<-->PCI card drivers.

Maybe first check with your dog, but I'd look at the BIOS and the drivers for the adaptor card. MY Great Dane reckons this is the most probable cause.

LOL, does your dawg bite? :D

@MSND, most of the issues with PCMCIA data cards not being properly detected &| initialised seem to be BIOS related - start there - if your dawg doesn't agree then your dawg is probably wrong...
