Hi all,

I'd like to find out if anyone knows of a good program to share an inet connection (ie my 3g) to one or many certain ips on my network. My ip on my laptop is set to dynamic (DHCP) so i cannot use MS ICS. If possible i'd to enable or diable access per ip on the network.

Win XP Pro on all machines on network so program will have to work on XP ie. not routing and remote access on Win Server etc etc...

Does anyone have the same problem or know of a solution.

Thanks.....

Thats the problem. Linux on one lan and not on the other. server on one lan but not the other. Thats why i'm looking for a standalone proggy. :)

I recall a post on the forum where this was discussed. Maybe do a search.

1) If your laptop is going to be a permanent member of the network to allow others to share the connection, can you not use a static IP? And thus ICS?

2) If your laptop is not going to be a permanent member of the network and you want to keep on using DHCP, why not consider the LittleBox (don't anyone start on availability!) and create a permanent solution for the network?

You can plug the LittleBox onto the LAN and do the filtering / firewalling in the unit itself.

Yes. That was one of my ideas but alas not available. lol. Will maybe just write my own little proggy then. Thanks for the help guys.

if you write your own proggie, any plans to share it with us :D

Of course. If I get time to sit and code and it's decent enough then sure, why not. I'm all for Open Source... Maybe someone out there can take it and make it better.
