3G coverage - Stellenbosh @Vodacom3G

I though it was time for me to start with 3G, so I checked out availability on the map. My street did not have coverage but all the streets around it has coverage, why is it so weired ? 20 meters from me is lindley street that does have coverage (I am in moses street ) Idas valley

Vodacom3G, is there any plans yet? for coverage. while you at it , pls check Caledon as well.

The above is the cell ID, and the whole weekend no 3G signal.

Just what U 2 know that I was STUPID. (remembered just now)
When I went overseas last month, I changed my phone's setting to GSM only.
Thus no 3G

So I did not Changed the setting back, DUH

Thx anyway for the trouble I caused. LOL

Signal is good in stellies, no probs anymore. hsdpa, getting up to 800kbps at times

My brother has a E220 and he regularly reports speeds of 2.4 mbits/sec in the center of town.

No 3G/HSDPA in Welgvonden yet. Reception for voice calls was upgraded in Decemeber I reckon because it became great overnight after it was shocking but am still hopeful I can get 3G/HSDPA there soon.

Sorry to dash your hopes for a quick fix but we're still awaiting transmission to the area to support more towers / higher speeds.

Also seems (and I wonder how often this is now going to become an issue) that the current power supply needs to be upgraded.

There is signal, albeit weak. A friend of mine lived there in the far northern and low lying areas of Welgevonden about 2 years ago and I managed to get a few bars outside on the stoep on the bottom floor of his house. If you really want 3G/HSDPA, an external antenna will probably fix your problem.
