according to the coverage map i have coverage....NOT!
so i logged a call, i get reference number and they say they will call back because according to them i should have coverage, they will investigate..maybe they are working on the network.

so they call but i could not answer and they leave a message to say they will try the alternative number i gave
huh??? i HAVE NO alternative number..i gave the only number i got.

i call 082155 TWICE and hold on for 25 minutes each time, my arm is getting sore so i hang up.
anybody that can give advice?

reason why logged a call is i dont want to buy a 3g product of theirs and then sit with no coverage, so i borrowed a stick to check first..i have 1 to 2 bars full at the MOST and 3g is struggling to connect and stay connected.

on the 8ta coverage map, there is NO coverage in my particular area. so thus i will also not have mtn coverage either...vodacom will be my best bet i guess with good 3g prepaid( i want prepaid) deals they have at the moment.

any advice please?
thanks

:mad:huh iWorst?? over my DEAD body! they owe my mother money for wrong full billing and its been over a year now and have not refunded it! those fkers!!!! i want iWorst to die a painfull death..

Oh well, they do have good deals on at the moment though, and available on month-to-month too.

....2 bars is still coverage...

not good enough.. i loose connectivity and struggle to open a simple google page!
niemand sal tevrede wees met 2 bars nie!

niemand vandag het tyd om te sit en wag..yawn....yawn..vir 'n page om te load nie ;)

yeah I know, but what I am saying is that they probably still see it as coverage. Not sure what their "cut off" level is, probably around -95dBm

What is your address and vodacom number you are using in your loan modem? i can check the Base stations you connecting from to confirm the availability.

I have the same problem at my house. 2 bars but when I walk to my front gate I get full signal - go figure..

Anyway I'm using an antenna for 8ta so when I switch to my voda package I use the antenna too. Works fine for me get about 5mbps line speed..

@OP,

from what has been explained to me. 8ta's coverage maps does not include MTN.

Maybe look at MTN's maps & if by appearance they seem great get a sim & test.

At least that way you'll get a better idea of coverage....

anycase let me say: i logged a call with vodacom re the signal,Mr Harris came to my house yesterday to do a signal test.. he says: i must configure the software to pick up 3G and not 2G..and even if i have 1 or 2 bars 3G i will still get about 2mbps speed. the other thing is i need to up my RAM!! i have 1GB and running win7 is a no go..

so thank you very much for the effort and friendliness of the Vodacom support team and to Mr Harris! big thumbs up!!!
