Hello all.

Is it possible to connect's my dear old mother's normal Celeron desktop PC to 3G? I desperately want to get her off the Telkom moneydrain.

I see Vodacom is advertising a PC/Laptop+3G contract? Is that the way to go? MTN have anything better?

Thanks

I sent a private mail because there are a few options and the answer depends on your preferences.

Easy Options are:

a) Get a Cellphone with 3G/EDGe/GPRS abilities, hook it up to your PC via USB/Bluetooth as a modem

b) Get a datacard and a PCMCIA-PCI adaptor and plug it into the back of the pc.

c) Get a laptop, plug datacard/cellphone into it, share the connection to the desktop via LAN cable or Wireless network.
