Hi there

Can anyone from MTN help in regards with my signal on my hsdpa card.I dont have any signal.Previously I got full signal.I phoned the technical department(1555) they said they can't see anything wrong in my area, but they will come back to me.(Still waiting).I am in a 3G/HSDPA area.On the corner of Central & Voortrekker st in Kempton Park.

PS.My 6680 shows 3G with 4 bars signal

Maybe you set the HSDPA card to GPRS/EDGE only under "Settings -> Network" ?

If your phone picks up the signal the problem must be related to the card.

or...

Do you use the same SIM or a different one?

Put the card SIM in the phone and see what happens. Check for balance and ability to use the data SIM in the phone to send a MMS on 3G.

The settings are set to use 3G.I have 2 simcards.Idid change the simcards and both havent got signal in the hsdpa card.If I put the (hsdpa) sim into the phone then it shows 4 bar signal.I even used a pay as u go sim in the card and still no signal.

Definitely a problem on the card itself. You'll have to swop it out or get it repaired.

Sounds like a problem with the card - Do you know anyone with a card that you can try?

MTNDD

Unfortunately not.Where can I get it swoped.
PS.The card is not even a month old

Just put a vodacom sim in..........full signal. This shows me that there is nothing wrong with the hsdpa card.It must be network problems.

MTNDD can you check on youre side

Is this an MTN or Vodacom branded card. Maybe some network lock?

If your 3G phone works well in the area it still does not make sense that the network is the culprit.

Does the card work in other areas?

@Overdoze

Could you please advise on the above ASAP?

It is a MTN card.(Fastlink e620 card).It works in other areas.It isn't network locked.

This is a strange one

Your 3G phone works hundreds with the 3G your Data Card doesn't - If your phone's working then your data card should be working tell me something on your phone are you forcing it to 3G only via FTD net monitor?

MTNDD

No not forcing it.I must add that the 3g phones signal is not full signal but only 2-3 bars

I just want to know if The Rhodes-field tower is 3g and hsdpa enabled because my phone shows im getting signal from there when the 3g icon dissapear on my phone

Can you get a edge or gprs signal on the card ? if so then the card and com ports & irq's are working correctly. Then it has to be MTN network or node. But if you not getting gprs, then must be sum other problem?

MTNDD.
Please log a caal aswell because this is realy frustrating.I cant even send and receive emails
