"VODAFONE GERMANY INTENDS to use this week's CeBIT, Hanover show to launch an additional 3G service. Known as Zuhause or At Home (in English), it's 3G-in-a-box and designed to completely replace fixed lines telephones and high speed fixed connexions like ADSL. The advantage to using cellular technology is that the box can be located anywhere you like (as long as there's a mains plug). You're not tied to creating a small office right next to your existing telephone sockets."
 
I dont know what speeds they get from 3G in germany, but if they get 384k like here in ZA its not going to be very popular.
 
Didn't I see something on this forum about ADSL in Germany being something like R30 - why not just use skype with that? It would solve alot of problems
 
I had a long chat with a friend of a friend back in December - he was out here from München, and from what he told me things are not as simple as they seem - all sorts of Deutche telecomms type schemes that make it difficult to compare apples with apples...
