Once again vodacom aims to please!!

I have been getting error 619 all morning again, and as I stated in my other posts, I am once again writing this through my CellC GPRS connection.

Vodacom, you are making huge st*ffups, and I want to have this corrected NOW!!

You are truly making me a happy customer here! (Just to enlighten some, that is called sarcasm)

Plus vodacom4me is reporting that it cannot retrieve my emails too, what are you guys getting up to!!??

3G is still down for me, it has been 2 and a half hours, vodacom4me still shows that error message "We are experienceing problems servicing your request..."

How long is the gonna take? I definitly do not pay vodacom to not give me service!

HAHAHA well i dont know what else to say, but what else did u expect to pay them for. Ur money is good enough for them... thats where it ends.

Hmm, they seem to be following the telkom business model now

Been down for 3:15 now, still posting these through CellC GPRS, I wonder if vodacom is gonna reinburse me for the costs incurred while posting this stuff!

And of course, vodacom4me is also still down

Just reinserted my card again, hoping for some luck, and now it is working :D
Only problem is the entire vodacom4me site is down now.

Pinging vodacom4me results in 100% data loss.

Everything seems to be working again :D
We will see for how long it lasts, since the help desk told my dad "We can't say when it will be working again"

Seems very intermittent - comes and gos - of course it went in the middle of an upload to a server !

No local , no international - no nadda !

My client in Kempton also had a problem not 3G , but he had gprs.. and held for 10 mins for 155, ( no answer...." but ur call is important") and then changed profiles again after 30 mins and hey presto 3G back up... maybe down node for maintenace or changing cables or sumthing...

No chance of a web site , showing which web sites are goign down or are down? V3G you guys used to have that on OMTweb.... no chance of getting that back for registered users or companies.....?

I know that we always use the Bergsig tower. But as v3g said before, you can never be sure which tower your card is trying to use :p

Ok, will do. If it happens again, I will remember to post the station name that I think the card is using. But I am almost 100% sure it is the bergsig tower, because according to the coverage map, it is the only tower serving this end of Rustenburg.

Also, I am sure CellC still use Vodacom towers right? Well I know that CellC don't have any towers in my area, and I have seen my phone use the Bergsig tower many times before, so when 3G or GPRS don't want to work, I use my phone (on CellC) to post the problem here, and it goes through GRPS, it also connects at about 115kb/s on GPRS while my card (merlin U630) connects at about 56kb/s, how does this work? But anyway, if my phone (using the same tower as the card) can connect via GPRS, why cant my data card?

Even when Vodacom was testing their new systems, and when almost everyone couldn't connect via the card, my phone was able to, using the same tower as the card. It is pretty weird, especially the speed differences.

[Edit]
BTW, my phone is a Samsung D500, connected to my PC via a bluetooth dongle.

I downloaded the firmware just the other day from the vodacom site, it is 14.2-14.2. But it has always done this, even with the older firmware that came with the card (v9.x). I find the speed differences quite strange :)

[Edit]
Yes, I did flash the card after downloading it ;)
(Just in case you thought I was doff enough not to ;) )

Quote from Novatel Website on Merlin U630 capabilities:
Backward compatible for maximum coverage on GSM and GPRS networks worldwide at speeds up to 53.6 kbps

Sorry, seems the U630 simply can't go faster!;)
