3G on my note 3

So I splurged and bought myself the note 3 I'm new to Android and I can't seem to get 3g only H and H+ is there some trick ? I live in the Knysna area and have always had 3g on my iphone. Any help is good help!

H and H+ is faster than 3g. If it stays on H and H+, be happy!

In my area, my phone chops and changes between G, Edge, 3g, H and H+. Quite annoying.

Oh I didn't know that thanks, it does still take forever to do anything and sometimes it even says there's no network connection is there a setting I need to change to get it to work maybe?

In my area, my phone chops and changes between G, Edge, 3g, H and H+. Quite annoying.

If it is changing between 3G and H or H+, it is normal. 3G is when idle - no data transmitted/received.
If it is changing between 3G (H variants) and 2G (or EDGE), it needs your attention. It usually helps to keep 3G connection by changing settings to 3G-only somewhere in phone settings.
