Hi Everyone

I have a few clients who have local mail servers on their ADSL connections. These are on SAIX and IS networks respectively.

Recently I have been receiving complaints about the remote users who work on 3G getting timeouts if they have to download > 2MB of email using POP3 or IMAP.

I have tried varias things, like setup vpn connections, giving outbound POP3 and IMAP connectiosn full priority from the mail servers etc to no avail.

Has anyone experienced similar connectivity issues recently?

What else can I do in order to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Hi

The maximum size of email that can go across the smtp server is 5mb. Your clients need to make sure that they are on a 3G/HSDPA connection. They might be on GPRS causing it to time out.

Hi

Well, it is not email they are sending. They have a mail server on site at their offices, on their ADSL connection.
Now, when trying to retreive email from that server while they are on 3G it times out, and is unable to download the email from the server that is on the ADSL connection. But I think that traffic is so shaped on 3G its just not possible to use it :/

The 3G connection is not shaped and the ports are not proritized. Was this working before?
