There are numerous postings regarding ADSL price adjustments and what appears to be indications of some competition entering the market among main role players.
Yet, no mention or rumours of anything happening on the 3G front?
Apart from Vodacom's short-lived 25MB/10% free data promotion which ended 31 August '09, I have not seen or heard of any impending changes.
Anyone aware of anything in the pipeline or should we consider installing ADSL?

Many thanks.

There doesn't seem to be does it.

Maybe we should consider installing ADSL, especially considering all the threads about the glorious Afrihost and their R29/GB offer, I'm seriously considering it now.

Me too, i'm seriously considering a move to adsl. I really thought mtn will respond to vodacom's free data offer but i guess it was not meant to be. As much as i like mobility i also like to save some cash too since well i spend most of my time online.

With ADSL in our area now available, it seems to be the better option.
With the interconnection rate sword hanging over them, i doubt if we will see a drop in data pricing.
Just my 2 cents.

Vote with your wallets and go for adsl.

The AfriHost option is a month to month package. Unfortunately it will be running out soon - BUT you will still have cheaper bandwidth per Gig than with Vodacom/MTN.

Plus, with Axxess prepaid vouchers you won't need to give out your banking details to accounting departments - you can safely stay within your budget without getting any unpleasant up and down bills a la MTN billing.

The downside is - it is not portable.

Should you switch over to ADSL, let VC and MTN know why you have switched over.

Should enough people do this, then maybe they'll start to listen.

Good luck with the Telkom line applications though :)

(and yes, you can also have a telkom ADSL line on a month to month basis).

I think the cheapest package for low usage all costs included is the 1.5GB with Neotel Neogo. Not any of the 3G packages.
