I've had 3g for 6 months now. Huawei modem in my pc etc.

I always had 3G connected where I live (Somerset West Area) during this time, but recently, say a week or so ago, I started getting 53.6kbps (green light). I get it everywhere in my house, and the modem refuses to give me 3G connection. I haven't been on 3G since more than a week ago.

I have tried software updates and firmware updates with no luck. I've tried on different PC's (3) as well. When I use VMClite, and choose the "Select Network" option, it says :

Vodacom 2G : Current
Vodacom 3G : Available

If I select 3G, nothing happens.

If I don't get this fixed by the end of the month, I will be very disappointed.

Have you tried reporting it to 155?

I suggest you download [searchforum]ginggs' application[/searchforum] and use it to force [searchforum]3GOnly[/searchforum], then post an update, and as v3g mentioned, also report it to 155.

I have reported it to 155. They said Christmas = many new cellphones with 3g etc. They also said they are definitely investigating it already. So I'm trying to be patient about this, but I just don't want half my data bundle remaining at the end of the month. It would also be quite unfair paying for 3g, and getting 56k half the time...

Ok I got his application, and it seemed to fix it. I have 3G now :)
Thank you for the suggestion.
