3G roam on Vodacom

Hey guys,

I have Vodacom 3G coverage, but only Cell C EDGE coverage. Is it possible to roam on Vodacom's network at 3G speed?

No, it is only posssible to roam on Edge on Vodacom's network with Cell C.

Same trouble in Grahamstown - would have thought that Cell C would have targeted university towns !

I thought the agreement wasn't even edge(2.5G) i thought it was gprs only (2G)?

I get my Cell C data through the roaming facility on my local Vodacom tower -- but the LED on my datacard shows the green 'GPRS' indicator even though a speed monitor shows speeds hovering somewhere just above GPRS speeds (around 80 Kbps) which should, technically, be within the EDGE and not GPRS band, should it not?
