I sincerely hope someone would be able to give me some advice.

I have a K3770 3G modem from Vodacom which I use with a TP Link MR3220 router to have wifi in my house.

I often struggle with internet speed, sometimes it is so slow that internet pages do not want to load. Whenever I switch my phone to 3G, the speed is fast and pages load without any hassle.

So now I want to know where the problem lies, and have the following questions:
1. Since 3G on my phone is working 100%, can I rule out network signal quality as a problem? Whenever I plug the dongle into my laptop, connectivity is also good.
2. So the problem points to the router then...but other times the connection is good and fast as well when using Wifi (without ever changing settings) so why do I only experience slow speeds every now and then?
3. If it is perhaps network congestion, why does 3G work perfectly when I switch over to it?
4. Could it be that my wifi router or signal is experiencing interference (from something else in the area) causing a bad signal?
5. Is the antenna in a 3G dongle weaker than the one in a cellphone?

My router is running the latest firmware, 99% of the time I sit right next to it and I live in Centurion (Amberfield, close to the Mall @ Reds)

Resetting/rebooting the router does not make a difference at all.

Any suggestions or comments on what to try to improve the situation would be much appreciated. I enjoy the times when everything is running smoothly, but hate those stretches where the wifi is slow - and I don't know what is causing those stretches of slowness!

Try to switch WiFi off on the router and see if problem persists. It means connecting with Ethernet cable.
