Hello

I currently have a Netgear DGN2200 ADSL Router

I am wanting to switch to 3G as opposed to ADSL and am looking for the most cost effective way to do this

From what I have researched it does not appear as if the DGN2200 supports the use of a 3G dongle through is USB port as this is only for storage

I have price purchasing a new router with dongle and this comes to roughly R800 or purchasing a 3G router which is roughly R1400

I am a bit opposed to have to buy complete new routers when I have a router already and just want 3G

Are there any cheaper devices which can connect to my router and provide 3G access?

Thanks
Mark

i flashed tomato by shibby onto a clients e4200 to allow usb 3g failover, unfortunately it has to be manually changed over but better than buying a new router. maybe check if tomato has a version for your router

Another option might be ROOter, the DGN2200 is not currently listed as a supported modem, but ask in that thread, maybe they can help you.
