Hi im using the huawei e220 usb modem, and i'd like to say that i think it works perfectly except for 1 fact.

After i've disconnected and unplugged the usb(stopped it from running) modem, i put my system into hibernate mode. When i put the system on again the laptop refuses to pick up the usb. I have to restart my machine all the time.

I've tried scanning for hardware changes in the device manager etc.

plz help.

thanks

I'd start by checking if there is a new BIOS and / or USB drivers for your platform. Upgrading to the latest drivers normally sorts out a lot of USB related issues.

HI
im using windows xp with service pack 2.

what drivers must i look for.

All my other usb devices eg memory sticks, usb keyboard and usb mouse all work fine. y is it that just the modem doesnt pick up?

As v3g suggested, start by finding out if there is an newer BIOS version for your notebook.

Thanks it worked

u guys are brilliant.
As a matter of interest, what make & model of notebook was it, and which BIOS update version solved the problem? - might help someone else searching the forum for the exact same set of variables in the future...
