Over any connection (fibre/normal 3g accessed on a wifi router/corporate APN 3g accessed over a wifi router) the following works correctly - on network > successfully connect using Cisco VPN software > access FTP with FileZilla.

Over any direct 3g connection (USB modem/internal laptop modem with normal 3G data sim/corporate APN 3g) the following does not work - connect on 3g network > successfully connect using Cisco VPN software > cannot access FTP with FileZilla.

So bottom line, unable to access the FTP on FileZilla when connected directly to a 3G network.

Any idea on what could be the issue here?

Check the FTP transfer mode in the settings of filezilla. IIRC it should be "passive". You can play around with the different settings to see how you can get through the firewalls.

Does the FTP server not have a firewall blocking certain ranges or non-whitelisted IPs?

Can't be that, cause then it would block them over the B315 3G router as well.

I'll play around with that, thanks. Don't know the app at all.

Oh, didn't understand the OP.

Smells like something NAT related, but thats just a wild guess. Good luck!
